Sock Knitting: Part 2
Aug 23rd, 2008 by prissycook
Part 2 of my sock knitting class was a doozie. The class was 3.5 hours of grueling knitting. We finished knitting the ankle and it was time to turn the heel. What I know now is there there are several different approaches to making a heel on a sock and our instructor chose a German technique that was quite tough.
No less than two times, I had to get up and “walk it off.” Seriously, what’s going on when you have to destress from taking a sock knitting class.
What you see here took about 2 hours to knit from the top needle to the bottom needle.
Now, I haven’t made as much progress this week as I needed for my final class. I got a new gig at work, Junior League is back in full swing. I know that I’ll get a new routine in place soon, but for the next few months, things are going to be crazy.
On an up note, I have discovered that knitting needles make a good stylus.
