Prickly Pear Lemon Green Tea
Mar 29th, 2009 by prissycook
I don’t know what to tell you. I wrote for over a month about my citrus bandit escapades. I made dusk runs to snatch oranges, grapefruits and lemons from unsuspecting neighbor’s trees. I planned out routes that would take me through citrus rich neighborhoods.
Then all of a sudden, it seems like most of you realized I had a problem and held a quasi-intervention. You started leaving me bags of lemons on my desk. You’d walk by and hand me an orange. Heck, some of you even invited me over to harvest to my heart’s content.
Don’t you get it! It’s not the same now! Oranges without the little bit of naughty just don’t taste the same. I’m moving on.
Prickly Pears should be coming into season soon. Last year I spent most of March trying to find prickly pears, only to give up and start hunting for prickly pear syrup (which I found in ample supply at AJ’s Fine Foods).
I’ve spotted what I’m sure are prickly pear cactus’ around my neighborhood. Now that I know what to look for, I think I’ve found a new target. I’m already getting my taste buds ready.
